How to Take a Face Symmetry Test Photo

Perspective can look like asymmetry. Use these conditions to make the measurement more repeatable.

Use a front-facing camera at eye level, not a wide-angle shot from very close range.
Keep your head upright, look straight ahead and avoid turning or tilting.
Use soft, even frontal lighting without a strong shadow on either side.
Move hair away from the eyebrows, cheeks and jawline when possible.
Keep both eyes open and use a relaxed, closed-mouth expression.

A Geometric Score, Not a Beauty or Medical Judgment

The face symmetry test reflects visible landmark agreement in one uploaded photo. Raw mirrored-point differences are converted through a versioned, monotonic scoring curve and combined with fixed region weights.

Natural asymmetry is normal. The report does not identify a person, diagnose a condition, rank attractiveness or claim a population percentile. Repeat the test with similar pose, lens distance and lighting if you want a more useful comparison.

It consistently compares MediaPipe landmarks in a suitable front-facing photo, but it is not a clinical measurement. Camera lens, distance, pose, expression and lighting can affect every score.

Does the AI decide my symmetry score?

No. Deterministic geometry calculates every score, feature, side and face shape. AI receives only those facts and writes the explanation and optional guidance.

What do the left and right labels mean?

They refer to the left and right as shown in the uploaded photo. Mirrored selfies and camera apps may reverse anatomical sides, so the report avoids medical laterality claims.

Why was my photo rejected?

The face symmetry test needs exactly one clear face, a level front-facing pose, open eyes, a relaxed mouth, adequate light, contrast and sharpness.

Are the mirrored faces AI-generated?

No. Your browser creates them by copying each half of the canonical photo across the measured facial midline.

Is my photo stored or sent to the AI?

No. The photo and mirrored images remain in your browser. The server receives landmarks and quality metrics, returns the report, and stores only the credit transaction.

Does a lower score mean something is wrong?

No. Natural facial differences are common, and a single photo can amplify them. This is visual geometry guidance, not a diagnosis or attractiveness judgment.
